President Trump’s military parade has been put on pause.
Last year Trump was wowed by the Bastille Day celebration in France and it was something he wanted to do in the US, saying “it would be great but the spirit of the country.”
The event, targeted for November 10, was to “focus on the contributions of our veterans throughout the history of the US military.”
However some felt the event would have spotlighted the president and not the military.
The Pentagon put the parade on hold, at least until next year.
An administration source says the parade may cost $92 million.
The American Legion issued a statement saying it “appreciates that our president wants to show in a dramatic fashion our nation’s support for our troops.”
But also says the money could be spent and better ways, including giving troops the “best care possible.”
