The police department in Braintree, Massachusetts used humor to address the oppressive heat blanketing the country.
They posted this message on their Facebook page: “Folks, due to the extreme heat, we are asking anyone thinking of doing criminal activity to hold off until Monday.”
They encouraged Braintree citizens to “stay home, blast the A-C, binge ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3, play with the FaceApp or practice karate in your basement. We will all meet again on Monday when it’s cooler. Sincerely, The Popo.”
The department confirmed to CNN that the post is legit.
It has racked up more than 100,000 shares since Friday.
