A suspect in the murder of legendary civil rights activist Sadie Roberts Joseph is now behind bars.
The death of the 75-year-old rocked the tightknit Baton Rouge community.
Roberts Joseph was best known for founding the Baton Rouge African-American Museum.
Last week she was found dead in the trunk of a car, suffocated to death.
Police say her alleged killer is 38-year-old convicted sex offender Ronn Jermaine Bell, who served time for the rape of an eight-year-old girl.
Bell rented a property from Roberts Joseph.
Investigators believe his motive to kill might have been that he owed Roberts Joseph two months in back rent.
