The State Department has issued a “Do not travel” warning for Iraq and has called on all non-emergency US government employees to leave the war-torn country.
The State Department also issued a Level 4 travel advisory for Iraq Wednesday.
That’s the worst of the Department’s four advisory levels for travel.
The State Department cited the existence of many terror and insurgent groups in Iraq, as well as anti-American militias as reasons for the advisory.
The Department also warns that Washington’s ability to provide routine and emergency services to American citizens in Iraq is extremely limited.
