Protesters in Calexico, California sent a strong message to President Trump in the hours before his visit to the US-Mexico border on Friday.
Protesters held up signs that read “No Border Closure!”and “End The Concentration Camps.”
Trump had a message for migrants: “Our country is full. We can’t take you anymore so turn around.”
However a week after threatening to shut down the border, Trump now says he believes Mexico is following through on his demands for tighter security by “apprehending thousand and bringing them back to their country.”
Friday’s trip to California comes after a huge legal battle with Democrats over funding a wall along the southern border.
Twenty states filed a motion Thursday for a preliminary injunction to stop the use of federal funds for construction of the wall after the president declared a national emergency.
