First Lady Melania Trump and second lady Karen Pence visited the American Red Cross national headquarters in Washington Tuesday and helped put together military comfort kits for deployed troops.
The kits included bottles of hand soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, treats like popcorn and peanuts and playing cards.
They will be sent to troops serving in Iraq, Poland, Djibouti and Kuwait.
The First Lady said the kits are just one small way to honor and thank the men and women in the military for their service and sacrifice.
She also encouraged Americans to consider participating in acts of service such as volunteering during the holiday season.
