Today Pres. Trump signed a presidential proclamation restricting U.S. asylum-seekers.
Now, migrants who cross the southern border illegally will no longer be eligible for asylum in the United States for at least 90 days.
The executive action is the latest the president has taken to deter illegal immigration and discourage a group of migrants traveling through Mexico seeking asylum in the US.
The Department of Homeland Security and the Justice Department issued the rule.
Atty. Gen. former Atty. Gen. Jeff sessions approved the new rule before resigning this week.
